Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house that has a combined gross home earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence earnings isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens nsfas login and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or plan to study in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
